The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that three American service members were killed and five others were seriously wounded as part of Operation “Epic Fury,” specifically during the strike in Iran.
“Several others sustained minor injuries from shrapnel and concussions and are in the process of returning to duty,” CENTCOM said in a statement, Insajderi reports.
“Major combat operations will continue, and our response efforts are ongoing,” the statement added.
The military did not release the names of the service members who were killed, according to NBC News.
Earlier, CENTCOM reported that an Iranian Jamaran-class corvette was struck by U.S. forces as part of the operation. The vessel was sinking at the bottom of the Gulf of Oman.
“As the President stated, members of Iran’s armed forces, the IRGC, and the police ‘must lay down their arms.’ Abandon the ship,” CENTCOM said. /Insajderi.org/
