Israel has confirmed that Iran’s Supreme Leader was killed in Saturday’s strikes, according to two Israeli sources familiar with the matter, CNN reports.
One of the sources said that Israel has secured a photograph of the body of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The second source stated that an official announcement is being prepared.
Earlier in the evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there are many signs that Khamenei “is no longer among us.”
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the President and the Supreme Leader of Iran are “safe and well.” However, Khamenei has not been seen in public or in video since the beginning of the attacks.
