Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, the wife of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has died from injuries sustained during the recent attacks, Iranian state media reported, amid an escalating conflict with the United States and Israel.
State media confirmed that Mansoureh, who had largely remained out of the public eye throughout her husband’s long rule, succumbed to her injuries after a joint US-Israeli military strike that also killed Khamenei and several members of his family.
Khamenei, Iran’s highest political and religious authority since 1989, was killed on February 28 in a wave of coordinated airstrikes targeting Tehran and other strategic locations, marking one of the most significant escalations in the region in decades.
