Goodwill Ambassador Elvana Shala spoke about her appearance at a UN conference wearing the beret of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
On the show “Kosova Today,” she said that her appearance was dedicated to Independence Day, as well as to the march “Justice, Not Politics,” Klankosova.tv reports.
However, Shala’s action did not pass without a typical reaction from Serbia.
“I did not take off the beret; in Parliament there was no problem. But the next day I realized the big stir it had caused on social media and in the Austrian media, precisely because the Serbian federation there had requested clarification from the Speaker of Parliament as to why he posed with Kosovo’s representative wearing the KLA beret, which they described as the beret of a terrorist organization,” Shala said.
Among other things, Shala added that she had no intention of provoking anyone, emphasizing that she knew there were no representatives from Serbia inside the parliament.
